The Moodle bootstrap process that initially runs can take a long time sometimes (up to 15 minutes or more). Please be patient while the site is bootstrapping, and refrain from performing any updates until it is completed.

Upgrade

The core upgrades of Moodle (for example, from v4.2.2 -> v4.3.3) is automated by MyWordPress.io. The periphal plugins, mods, and themes are not automatically updated by MyWordPress.io when a site upgrade is triggered.

The recommended method of performing upgrades is to do the following:

  • Create a clone of your site (or wait for backup to run)
  • Change the Moodle version (e.g., v4.2.2 -> v4.3.3)
  • Wait for upgrade to complete
  • Restore your custom plugins, mods, and themes as needed

Your previous installation of Moodle will be available in a html.previous.<md5> directory, which you can use to copy to your local machine and then upload to the html directory where the new version resides. The recommended way to do this is to enable the File Manager option for the site and connecting using an SFTP client.
