Definition

IP Address or Internet Protocol Address is a unique numerical identifier that typically represents a server or website on the internet.

There are two main types of IP Addresses: IPv4 and IPv6

IPv4

IPv4 addresses use a doted format to represent the server address on the internet: 1.2.3.4

IPv6

IPv6 addresses use a colon-separated format to represent the server address on the internet: 2600:9000:5305:3500::1
